How to Fun Computer Prank

Ever wanted to make your friends think they had a virus on there computer?

Well now you can and you don't need any skills at all. 

(optional) . if you are running XP click start then run and type "cmd" if you are running Vista/7 click start and type "cmd" in the search box and click cmd and to test type "shutdown -s -t 60 -c "test123" and press "enter" then type "shutdown -a" to cancel it

open notepad and type "shutdown -1 -t xx -c "Comment" replace -1 with -s or -r r for restart and s for shutdown, replace xx with the amount of seconds until it shutsdown or restarts and last but not least replace comment with a message for the computer to display.

at the top of notepad click file then click save as not save then type a non-conspicuous name and then .bat e.g. "Pic001.bat" (Note: Always leave out the "s) and then underneath click text documents (*.txt) and choose all files save it anywhere you like.

Congratulations now just open this on the targets computer in time for them to see it, hide and see their reaction or get them to open this if they open it even better".

(optional) want this to be done at a certain time? (note requires Admin privileges) open cmd type at 0:00AM "shutdown -1 -t xx -c "Comment"

Tips

replace "-1" with "-s" or "-r" r for restart and s for shutdown, replace "xx" with the amount of seconds until it shutsdown or restarts and last but not least replace "comment" with a message for the computer to display.

  • keep the " for "comment"
  • replace "0:00AM" with the time you want it to open in format Hour (12 Hour) semi-colon Minute and then am or pm

  •  The is just a playful prank and can cause no actual harm.
